363 housing units<\/b> along an old hall<\/h2>\n

How can we meet the need for housing density while maintaining a pleasant, varied architectural style that supports high quality living? These were the questions that animated ANMA when designing the G1 block, located alongside the Alstom hall, near the Grand Parc des Docks de Saint-Ouen. The 363-home project is designed as a large trident, preserving two planted island cores on a one-hectare rectangular plot.<\/p>\n

The project is characterized by two complementary atmospheres: those of the shell and those of the core. From the street, the building’s warm tones reflect the quality of its homes, with deep balconies and generous loggias. Conversely, from the heart of the block, light-colored glazed brick and white concrete cladding create a soft, luminous ambience.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>

The sense of vertical density has been mitigated by dividing the building into three horizontal layers: activities and lobbies punctuate the life of the neighborhood on the first floor, through-housing occupies the main floors and duplexes carve out volumes on the top floors.<\/p>\n

In this way, the matrix-covered concrete base brings together a multitude of activities that enliven the neighborhood. These include the entrance halls of each building and parking accesses, bike rooms, garbage rooms and storerooms, as well as shops, small businesses and services such as a gym and a studio. <\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>

On the upper floors, as on the whole block, views towards the park have been given priority. From a balcony, loggia or terrace, each home benefits from a relationship with the outdoors, the greenery and the urban quality of the park. At the heart of the block, the facades are folded to open up views onto the parcel and bring a domestic scale to the building.<\/p>\n

The attics are also marked by light tones and are turned over on the street facades: they soften the sensation of height and herald the typological change towards duplexes, while the spread of the whole allows the sun to enter at the heart of the project. <\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>
