“DO WE KNOW HOW TO REHABILITATE ?”

In 2019, France had 35 million homes, 55% of which were single-family homes. But while new housing amouts to 70% of the square meters built per year, it only makes up to 1% of the housing stock. The high quality of use, ecological innovation and the resilience of these 0.05% of the housing stock corresponding to new housing designed by architects must now be understood as assumptions taking precedence over financial interest. And if we consider that a home built 30 years ago requires energy or functional renovation, then these issues are all the more relevant for the 25 million homes to be rehabilitated.
