for 2050

For one year, three teams composed of architects, urban planners, landscape architects, and environmental and mobility experts guided the residents of Annecy in a prospective process around nine emblematic sites that are representative of the development issues facing the agglomeration in 2050.

Each team was assigned a residential area, a business zone and a natural area as demonstration sites from which to spatialize the challenges of tomorrow and sketch out schematic responses.

On the basis of interviews, visits, workshops and discussions between experts and residents, development scenarios were presented. They constitute a common base of expertise from which the elected officials are committed to quickly implement the next actions: feasibility studies, charters…

How can this space be transformed to accommodate a new programmatic mix of housing, nature and productive spaces? Delimiting a non-buildable zone for agricultural and market gardening activities and to redraw the urban grid to accommodate smaller types of programs…

Dense neighborhood: Mandallaz neighborhood
How to live in the area between the station, the center and the Thiou in 2050 and reintegrate nature into public spaces? Transforming the existing habitat and bringing the Thiou into the neighborhood through valleys and planted spaces.

Natural area: Semnoz massif
How to make it accessible while preserving the natural landscapes? Sanctuarizing some spaces and facilitating access to others that are open to the public by concentrating activities and providing variety.
